Since 2020, the French Sport Foundation has been using iRaiser’s fundraising platform to structure and develop a peer-to-peer fundraising strategy. Three campaigns have been launched, targeting various stakeholders in the sports world:

  • Support Your Club: A platform that allows clubs affiliated with federations to engage their local communities.

Peer-to-peer fundraising: Over €6 million raised through Support Your Club

In June 2020, the French Sport Foundation launched the Support Your Club (Soutiens Ton Club) platform with iRaiser. The goal: to enable federation-affiliated clubs to engage their communities through a simple and intuitive platform.

The success was immediate: over €6 million was raised in less than two years, with thousands of clubs getting involved across France.

In November 2024, the Foundation launched Support Your Athlete (Soutiens Ton Sportif), a platform dedicated to high-level athletes, allowing each of them to raise up to €20,000. In just five months, this new campaign raised €500,000—demonstrating both its effectiveness and the strong interest from donors in supporting this programme.

On the online donation platform, each athlete can create and personalise their own fundraising page, and share it via a QR code or on social media. This allows athletes to independently engage sponsors, supporters, and partners—giving each one real visibility and the power to amplify their campaign reach.

3 Tips from the French Sport Foundation for a Successful Peer-to-Peer Fundraising Campaign

To run an effective peer-to-peer fundraising campaign, the French Sport Foundation recommends focusing on three key areas:

  • Training: Organise webinars to explain the platform’s features and train fundraisers.

  • Optimised Use: Guide participants on how to personalise their fundraising pages and maximise their reach (QR codes, social media, etc.).

  • Targeted Approach: Share tips for identifying and persuading potential supporters to give and get involved.
